I really agree with your critique of “problem-solving” as manufactured wound + offered fix.
I do wonder if there’s a quieter form of helping that isn’t about fixing at all; naming something someone already feels and staying with them in it, without optimizing them out of it.
i have never looked at my subscribers, i do not want to post as if im expected to; i have yet to post any of my “words” of which i have poems, essays, and a book on the stove percolating; i’ve never done the “drop your stack and i’ll do same..
“I am a soul, I am a writer. I want to seduce you with my words, make you stay with my charms. And you, dear reader, are supposed to unwrap me, layer by layer. Keep what resonates, discard what doesn’t.” ⭐️⭐️ love this, the entire piece . Very well done
This was music to my ears, I left Medium because it felt saturated with personal brands and marketers selling success stories, there's still some of that here, but here there seems a lot more authentic creatives, such as yourself, def had to subscribe to you after reading this!
This is something I have been feeling, thinking, at times trying to articulate.
I am tired of being told to choose a niche or a genre or stick to it.
I write a story. There are tropes. But I don't create a check list of the best tropes to use or flip. I don't advertise my story with a descriptive title, a cover showing all the characters, and a blurb that talks more about what the protagonist gains than the obstacles they face. I am sick of having to tell people if my story has a happy ending or not. I want them to find out. I want them to feel the suspense in each chapter, not knowing anyone's ultimate fate.
This was bold and needed. Thankyou x
thank you for reading!

that’s an interesting thought!
Appreciate this! I started out writing personal branding content, gravitated towards long-form stuff. It's the slower, more genuine path.
glad you came to the same conclusion!
ahh. to monetize or not monetize..
that is the question….
for some.

so answer is no.
hold a bird in an open hand.
what’s your answer?
That’s not far off of the idea I expressed about identity. Good work with a fun aggressive bite
My strange edges are the only advantage I have lol, my strength
thank you! i’ll be checking it out
I literally did write about how niche-ism flatting what it means to be a human. I agree with you ❣️
i’ll have to read that asap!
Aww very kind of you, i’d love your opinion 🤍
Here it is

If you deal with people, they don’t want to put you in a frame. Commercialization was the worst thing to happen to a creative 😭😭
couldn’t agree more!!
Yes! Love this! Thought you might appreciate my piece on the same thing. Enjoy! https://open.substack.com/pub/jenniferriggan/p/forging-a-brand?r=1fojb2&utm_medium=ios&shareImageVariant=overlay
